Are you ready for the fourth annual North American Taxidermy Championship?

In keeping with tradition, this year’s North American Taxidermy Championship features four days of competition and seminars for taxidermists. Happening alongside the Big Rock Sports East Show and headlined by renowned taxidermy professionals from  across the US as judges, the competition will offer $25,000 in cash, prizes and  awards.

Thursday, January 5

Friday, January 6

8:00 am – 6:00 pm……………………………….Big Rock Sports East Show, Floor Open (Registered taxidermists are free to browse, no one under age 16 allowed.)
8:00 am – 5:00 pm………………..North American Taxidermy Championship registration open (Final mount submission deadline: 3:00 pm)
9:00 am – 11:30 pm………………….Vic Heincker, “Tanned Skin Measurements and Fitting Tanned Skins to Forms with Minor Alterations”
11:30 am – 1:30 pm………………………….Catered Lunch served in upstairs ballroom
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm………………………..Seminar: Aaron Connelly, “Becoming an Accomplished Taxidermist Part 1 – History Lesson in the Study of Anatomy and Sculpture” (Powerpoint and Lecture)
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm……………………….Seminar: Jeff Mourning, “Fish, reptiles, and more….Painting techniques: blending, bleeding, and mixing!!”
5:00 pm – 7:00 pm……………………Competition Room open for viewing
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm…………………..Social with complimentary appetizers and drinks

Saturday, January 7

 

8:00 am – 5:00 pm……………………North American Taxidermy Championship registration open (final mount submission deadline: Friday January 8 at 3:00 pm)
8:00 am – 6:00 pm……………………Big Rock Sports East Show, Floor Open (Registered taxidermists are free to browse, no one under age 16 allowed.)
9:00 am – 12:00 pm………………….Hands-on Seminar: Brenda Duvall and Jim Kimball,”Bobcat eyes and ears” (Must register online at taxidermychampionship.bigrocksports.com or call 866-365-0130 to attend seminar. This class has limited openings, spots will fill up. There is a $25 cost to cover materials.)
11:30 am – 1:30 pm……………………Competition Viewing
11:30 am – 1:30 pm…………………..Catered Lunch served in upstairs ballroom
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm…………………..Seminar: Aaron Connelly, “Becoming an Accomplished Taxidermist Part 2 – Basic Form Alterations”
3:30 pm – 5:30 pm…………………..Seminar: Page Nethercutt, “Mounting a Duck with Emphasis on Reference”
